Rite Of Avalon
Full Moon Ceremony
Needed For the Ceremony:
a large, low dish filled with sand
enough small, white candles for each participant in the ceremony
One
larger candle, any color you choose
a bowl of "sacred" water for anointing -- This may be created by first preparing it
with sacred oils and herbs, and left to sit by a window that can receive the moonlight overnight before the day/night of the
actual full moon.
The Ceremony:
Light the large candle saying a prayer or affirmation that this candle represents the "Light of the World."
Then have each person file by and light a small candle from the large one, saying their personal prayer and placing their
candle upright in the sand. When all the candles are lit, you might have a song or chant all can participate
in together. Then pass the bowl of sacred water and allow each person to anoint themselves in the "Moon Elixir." You might
wish to close this portion with each person hugging one another and giving a personal blessing to each other (just a
few words of love).
You may of course, alter this ceremony to suit your own intuition.
A suggested song-prayer:
ARET KALA
source translated from the Akasha by Maia Christianne
Thou art the Sacred, the Cup of Light, the Fountain of my Spirit
Thou art all that sings thy Holy Name
Thou art, Thou art, Thou art
Aret Kala, Aret Kala, Aret Kala
Moon, reflect the Sacred in me
Sun, inspire the Flame in me
Earth receive my Heart into thee
Thou art, Thou art, Thou art
Aret Kala, Aret Kala, Aret Kala
I call upon thy countenance in my being
I radiate thy expression in my soul
I am thy harp, thy flute, thy cymbal
I am thy lamp, thy temple, thy pilgrim
Thou art, Thou art, Thou art
Aret Kala, Aret Kala, Aret Kala
